The twentieth anniversary edition of a transformative blueprint for ancestral healing—featuring new material and gateways, from the renowned herbalist, natural health expert, and healer of women’s bodies and souls
“This book was one of the first that helped me start practices as a young woman that focused on my body and spirit as one.”—Jada Pinkett Smith
Through extraordinary meditations, affirmations, holistic healing plant-based medicine, KMT temple teachings, and The Rites of Passage guidance, Queen Afua teaches us how to love and rejoice in our bodies by spiritualizing the words we speak, the foods we eat, the relationships we attract, the spaces we live and work in, and the transcendent woman spirit we manifest. With love, wisdom, and passion, Queen Afua guides us to accept our mission and our mantle as Sacred Women—to heal ourselves, the generations of women in our families, our communities, and our world.

I consider this the “black” woman’s Bible
While i know everyone will have their own perspective in general, I believe that I must speak up for those truly interested in deep healing and true womb (feminine) healing. This book is not your average book by far, it’s not your average “self help” book either, and it’s not the type of book you can even dive into if the “soul” isn’t fully ready to do the work. You can read it all day long, but if you aren’t ready and willing to do the deep work it takes to appreciate a book like this, don’t buy it because you won’t like it.For me, this book is a holy grail to healing women. I have had it for almost two years and I have not read fully through it yet, I just picked up the newest edition and plan to continue to read and do healing work.I think it’s also worth mentioning that it’s okay if some things in the book doesn’t resonate with you, take what’s for you and leave what is not. This will help you when processing her teaching methods and practices. If you believe that there is only ONE way to your god, and your religion won’t allow you to receive these teachings, then as I stated earlier your “soul” is not ready for this type of deep healing work. This book is not for the faint hearted or skeptics. It’s for those courageous enough to look at their most darkest places and bring them to the light for the best healing you can have as a woman. It’s for those who are open to understanding the ancient afrikan ways because this book was and is specifically designed for those of the AFRIKAN diaspora. It takes you back to the ancient ways of our healing before colonization of our worlds as people of color. So that alone might deter you from the book if you hold bias there. This type of work is not simple and it’s not a “quick fix”, this type of book is designed to be apart of your ongoing journey as a sacred tool to heal—- and that is a lifestyle choice, not something you can get done in a year or after reading a couple chapters and then stopping there. This book is full of wisdom, motivation, positive affirmations, love, acceptance, insight, harmony, truth, and most of all Mother God.In short: this book has single-handely changed my life for the better and I know that it will help shape my life even more from here, and byway I’ll help other women continue on their healing journey. Remember this book isn’t only about you, when you heal; you can heal your whole world around you. But it starts with you accepting the journey unapologetically.

    Invaluable information
I haven’t actually completed the entire book yet, but I’m only in the third chapter and blown away! First, believe the cover when it says it is a guidebook. It’s great reading, but the intention is to put knowledge into action to heal yourself. This outlines a long-term process to healing. I don’t think I found this by accident. For me, I was totally oblivious to the topic until I started reading and took time to think about it. How have I never considered or thought about this before? There’s a lot of invaluable information packed in here. I’m not even past part I! Can be overwhelming with info overload but worth it. It might be best to read a little at a time and then re-read. Even if you’re not dedicated to the full process, I think for a novice on the path (like me), even doing some or a few things could be useful and bring profound healing. That’s my intention. Take what resonates and work with it, what doesn’t leave the rest. If it does, maybe slowly incorporate other things and work your way up to the full plan. At the least, you gain great knowledge just by reading alone. I recommend.

Finding the time to work in this book w/small children….
So happy I found the paperback, I purchased the Kindle version a year agi but it’s so much better to have a copy in my hands. Let the healing begin. (Again.)So here’s what happened. I started the journey in gate one and from my experience it is extremely transformative. Things began to be revealed to me about myself which is truly amazing. I started in gate 0 and technically I’m still there. Not sure if this is ok but this is where I am.Anyways, I was really slow to begin the process because there were items I needed to collect and additional time to find for myself. I have two small children and I’m building my business so finding the time and energy to do things is difficult however the time I did have I used. My sacred baths we’re at night or anytime I could manage. I did things to work within my schedule because I needed the healing. It’s a challenge for time but whatever time I make for myself I’m always thinking, “I should have done this sooner.” This healing book reminds me to care for myself when things get busy. It may take me longer to complete this, with my current responsibilities. So anyone out there wondering where the time is or you have small children and a career to manage, just do what you can when you can, it’s ok.I purchased the paperback to remind me to keep going. I started started gate one but I wasn’t quite ready yet. I feel the need to continue in gate 0. Anyways so far this book has been really helpful and life changing for me even the little I have read. (I skim thru the chapters from time to time for information)Also, I don’t sense that staying in a gate too long is problematic but if anyone out there knows it’s a hazard let me know.Hopefully this helps someone.December 2020 Update: I still have the book and have not gone through all the gates for me this book is definitely a reference. I will say when I did go through gate one my spiritual hearing popped open. I didn’t know I could do this. That being said I have dived into more spiritual aspects of myself. Things that use to scare me, no longer do. It’s definitely a work in progress for me but looking back on it all, my takeaways are spiritual baths, salt baths. I’ve found out things like I’m an empath and very intuitive, love crystals and I can read energy. For me this book opened my mind to another spiritual side of myself. Hopefully this makes sense and helps. So all in all it’s definitely a book to have. Still haven’t gone through all the gates though but am curious as too what other abilities will be opened for me.
